Beautiful Millennials

The start of a new body of work. I am doing 10 portraits of shiny bright Millennials. I have a fascination of this tribe of young people that seem to be so different from other generations. Perhaps they carry with them a sense of fearlessness and sit more comfortably in their skins. Looking forward to the contemplation that comes about when creating a new body of work..
All paintings are done in oil on paper board and measure 80x80cm.

Sanlam Commission

I have been commissioned by Sanlam Private Wealth Blue Book to produce a work incorporating the values of Candidness and transparency. For this I am doing a portrait with overlays of perspex with painted illustrations of butterflies and glass with prose etched into it.
Below is an image of the work in progress

Color me Africa - New York

If February I went to New York as part of SAWAA (South African women's art association) and Color me Africa to take part in the Harlem Fine Arts Show as part of Black History month.
I did a series of portraits incorporating design motifs.

Grande Provence - Angels Tears Exhibition

In December 2017, I took part in a show at Grande Provence Wine estate titled Angel Tears. The painting I did is of my sister and me and is done in oil on paperboard.

Sanlam Portrait award 2017

I submitted 2 portraits for the 2017 Sanlam Portrait awards and was honoured to get both into the top 100 and 1 into the top 40.
Both portraits are of a friend of mine, Anele who hails from Zimbabwe.
The portraits are oil on paperboard.
